VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese contestant at the Miss World 2009, Tran Huong Giang, was one of five nominees for the Top Asian Model competition in China, but is unable to participate.

According to Elite Vietnam, Huong Giang is the only Vietnamese model entered in the final round of the Top Asian Model. This is one of the titles of the first Fashion Asia Awards organized with the support of the media and fashion groups in 13 Asian countries. This will be an annual event, taking place this year in China from February 6-2.

The Fashion Asia Award organizing board will present awards to the best models, fashion designers, photographers, make-up artists, hair stylists, top tourist sites, fashion celebrities, fashion events of the year and devotion to fashion.

Vietnam’s Dep Fashion Show is also in the finals in the fashion event of the year category and Nam Hai resort is among five nominees for the top tourist site in Asia 2009.

Another model must be chosen to replace Huong Giang, who had to refuse because she would be busy with charity events in Vietnam.

“I really regret for Huong Giang, because this is not only a big opportunity for experience but also to market Vietnamese fashion in the region,” said Elite Vietnam’s representative Thuy Hanh.
